Beyond The Shadows by Brent Weeks

3.5 Stars!!!
"The most potent magics are tied to human truths: beauty, passion and yearning, fortitude, valor and empathy."

Superb ending to a great series. I highly recommend this series to those who want a solid fantasy series to read. There was nothing over the top about it but it was very enjoyable. The characters are likable and easy to get attached to, some more than others, but overall they balance out one another. I will say I expected a little more from this one. I felt like the ending was a little rushed. Weeks literally yanked my heart out and then left me dealing with my emotions ….. Forever.

I wanted a little more closure but that's probably just a personal preference. I'm looking forward to reading his other series in the future!

“You can only find true happiness within yourself, not inside of other people, no matter how much you care about them.”

This was a cute story. I enjoyed the banter of the MCs back and forth. There were also lot of deep emotional things happening in this one - makes you think about how living life to the fullest is truly the best way to live.

Crew by Tijan

4 stars!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

"Blood makes you related, but its loyalty that makes you family."

Ok so I will just be straight up- I'm a huge fan of Tijan and her books are literally a guilty pleasure of mine. She is one of the reasons I have a shelf called BOOK CRACK .

There is only a handful of books by this author that really haven't worked for me. This one - had its issues. Its superficial and just kind of, unrealistic in a sense, but you know what-It WORKED for me. Tijan is that author that doesn't hold back on issues- she is 1,000% on point when it comes to serving up that HOT TEA.

Her books bleed "messed up" situations. And to be frank- I LOVE IT. She is the Drama QUEEN and pours out the best blends. My cup runneth over.

This book totally had a Fallen Crest vibe to it- but how could it not when it is sort of connected. The only thing that was semi annoying was being reminded every 5 minutes that they were "Crew" - I was like OK OK- I get it. Other than that, I loved being back in a world with characters from Fallen Crest. Heather and Channing are in this one and Heather was one of my favorites from FC. I am glad she is kind of getting a book that lets me see a little into her world and what happens with her and Channing. I haven't even talked about the new characters- But I dont really feel like I need to. They worked for me and I am totally looking forward to the rest of the series. BRING ON THE DRAMA!

Lord of Shadows by, Cassandra Claire

4 "How could you do this to me??!!"stars!!!

“Fiction is truth, even if it is not fact. If you believe only in facts and forget stories, your brain will live, but your heart will die.”

Don't mind me... Ill just be over here drowning in my sorrow.... until December.

Why Cassie Clare.... WHY??!?! My heart Is not handling this very well...

Ok... So now I will try and review this book. Not sure that I can, since my heart is NOT functioning properly. At this point I have a love hate relationship with Clare. Why must she be so dirty to her characters? My babies ugh!! Not much to say really. This book gave me a million feels and I'm obviously STILL trying to process them.

I loved seeing Jace being there for Kit in the beginning, that was so sweet.... and watching Kit grow. He's becoming a favorite for me. I loved all the scenes with Magnus. The bomb Clary dropped had my head spinning!! On another note- I feel like the Shadowhunter's really need some help in the communications department. Why do they always wait until they are in the thick of things to work out a problem?? It drives me nuts. Also- Julian and Emma, absolutely had me so fired up this whole book. OH THE DRAMA! and AGNST... then there was Cristina and her trio...**Fans Face** Is this going where I think its going?!?!

Even though those things bug me- it makes me Love the book that much more!! At this point I am so invested, I need to know what happens to them and that just makes for a great hook to the book. See what I did there? :P

Overall- I enjoyed Lord of shadows. I will say that for most of the middle of the book, for me- not much was happening, and LOS, just like LM, could have been a lot shorter. I don't have an issue with big books, as long as its keeping my attention. The middle just had me sorta screaming for it to pick up. It finally did and the last half was great but it also ruined me.... December can not come fast enough.

You'd Be Mine by, Erin Hahn

4.5 Stars!!!

Arc generously provided by Net Galley for an honest review.

Adorable-Charming and Unputdownable! This is Hahn's debut novel and I admit, I am impressed! This was such a fun read. The characters were funny, likable and just genuine. This book made me want to wear a cowgirl hat and pull my boots out the closet. The author turned me not only into a fan of her work but of country music while reading. The whole time they were on tour and would do a show I felt like I was right there in the mix! Highly recommend to those looking for a good book that gives you all the feels!
