Book Review I Graceling by, Kirstin Cashore

3.5 Stars!! 🌟

“If I wanted to stun anyone at dinner, I'd hit them in the face.”

Graceling - a person born with a special extreme skill and often with two different colored eyes. Our MC Katsa is a Graceling and since the age of 8, when she killed her first man with her bare hands, her uncle - the King has used her to his advantage. She never expects to find out the true meaning of her Grace, but when she does could it be a game changer?

Katsa as an MC was refreshing to read. She was a bad ass and didn't need anyone's approval. She knows she is good at what she does and is comfortable with her life- She never plans to fall in love, marry or have kids. BUT- something happens when she meets Prince Po... *SWOON*

I loved the idea of this book soooo much, and while I wasn't a huge fan of how it was written- I really enjoyed the plot and the pacing of it! The writing was just a little odd to me. It felt a bit rushed and juvenile to the point it almost made it hard to really connect fully to the characters. Even though I liked Katsa- her personality at times came off a little bland. Po was different, his character was easier to connect with for whatever reason. I felt the romance aspect was done perfectly and the action scenes were exciting!

So-I wanted to give this book 4 stars because I really enjoyed the story-line. But after thinking about it- there was just something that holds me back from doing that. I still think its a great enjoyable read and still highly recommend it!
